almotamar.net - The European acting High Commissioner in Sana’a has praised the courage of president Ali Abdullah Saleh and his support for democratic values in Yemen, considering democracy in Yemen as an example in the region.
The international official statement came during a meeting on Saturday with Mr. Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Akwaa the assistant deputy in the foreign ministry. The two men had during the meeting reviewed the event of the presidential and local councils elections in Yemen that were held on 20th of September and the distinguished level of participation in the electoral process which happened in a democratic, free and fair manner.
The meeting also touched on the ongoing preparations for the donors conference scheduled in November between Yemen and the Gulf Cooperation Council and expected to discuss Yemen’s development needs.
