By: almotamar.net - SANA'A - Tariq Al-Shami, Director of the Media Bureau at the General People's Congress, expressed wonder at the news circulated on the Joint Meeting Parties' websites that President Ali Abdullah Saleh got support from Libya, Egypt and the Gulf States during the elections campaign.
"The whole international community bear witness to President Saleh's firm stands, shrewdness and boldness," Al-Shami said.
He added that President Saleh enjoys a permanent and considerable support from the USA, Europe, Arab States and Gulf States due to his regional and international status.
"He is the maker of modern Yemen's transformations and the man who serves security, stability and peace in the region and the world. He is the one able to translate the aspirations of the Yemeni people who rallied around him and blessed his steps," Al-Shami went on describing.
In a statement to almotamar.net, Al-Shami urged the JMP to reconsider their conduct. "After their utter defeat in the presidential and local council elections as the people rejected them, our brothers in the JMP are supposed to reconsider their program and their political and media discourse instead of reproducing the same political idiocy they used to display during the past period and creating meaningless trifles," Al-Shami concluded.
