almotamar.net - SANAA-President Ali Abdullah Saleh announced Friday evening about legal amendments to elect governors of the governorates, heads of districts and secretaries general of local councils by members of the local authority elected by the people. The president also announced on rotation of public posts so that stay of the official in any state institution will not exceed four years, confirming formation of an independent national body to fight corruption and the corrupt and another to deal with tenders and biddings.

In an Iftar meal the president gave at the presidential palace in Sana’a on Friday evening on the occasion of Ramadan fasting month and in celebration of the 44th Day of 26 September revolution, 43rd Day of 14 October revolution and the 39th anniversary of the Evacuation day on 30 November, the president said despite that the Joint Meeting Parties political address was characterized by upheaval manner under the umbrella of democracy we will brush aside that and begin a new chapter with parties of the JMP and opposition parties in general. He said the new chapter will include even those that called for a popular revolt. The president mentioned that the homeland is in need of joining all national and political efforts after the end of the election fever.
President Saleh said a great national achievement has been accomplished represented by the presidential and local elections held on 20 of last September and they were a democratic festivity all sons of the homeland inside and abroad are proud of the president added, “We confirm the determination to go ahead in implementing the presidential electoral program. A national committee has be
en formed from various concerned sides to set up a detailed timetable to carry out the election platform and scheduling all its contents and by God’s will its details will be announced soon.” president Saleh also called joining forces of all the sons of Yemen, men and women, for building the Yemen of freedom, democracy, stability and achievement of comprehensive development.
The president also welcomed domestic, Arab and foreign investments saying “We will offer all facilities to investors for the sake of creating job opportunities to attract the workforce and to absorb unemployment from inside the Yemeni people.”
