By: almotamar.net - SANA’A- Editor-in-chief of 26 September newspaper Ali Hassan al-Shater expressed wonder at the news published at nasspress news website that MP Hamid al-Ahmar denied he threatened to kill him.
Al-Shater renewed his affirmation on the physical liquidation threat he received on Tuesday evening by al-Ahmar due to a poem published by the newspaper under the title “He Who Disavows Grace”.
“I have decided to submit an official complaint to the attorney general, including concrete evidence that proves the threat I received from al-Ahmar,” al-Shater said.
Statements of condemnation followed incessantly the threat of al-Ahmar against al-Shater. A number of journalists described the threat against al-Shater as disgraceful behavior and terrorist inclination and reckless act.
“We do denounce this misdemeanor that bears evil intentions that don’t only threat the life of Hassan al-Shater, but pose a threat to security, stability, and peace as well,” journalists’ statement reads. They called on all journalists to stand united against such threats.
On the same front, journalists of al-Thawra newspaper condemned the physical liquidation threat against al-Shater. In their statement, they stated using threats is a clear violation of the law and contradicts the democratic atmosphere Yemen is experiencing.
The editorial staff of 22 May newspaper denounced the death threat leveled at al-Shater, expressing concern on the real danger he would face after such threats, and calling on the security authorities to provide protection for him.
