By: almotamar.net - IBB- The journalists of Ibb governorates showed solidarity with Ali Hassan al-Shater, editor-in-chief of the 26 September newspaper after he received threats of physical liquidation from MP Hamid al-Ahmer on Tuesday.
The journalists denounced the behavior of al-Ahmer and described it as savage, overt terrorism that targets journalists, announcing their solidarity with al-Shater. They called on the Parliament to remove the parliamentary immunities of al-Ahmer and present him to justice. They also called on the ministry of interior and attorney-general to take all responsibilities of the incident, and called on the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS) and civil society organizations to denounce such savage threats.
In their statement, of which almotamar.net received a copy, Ibb's journalists called on all Yemeni journalists to stand by Ali Hassan al-Shater and stage a sit-in as soon as possible in the YJS premises.
