almotamar.net - SANAA-President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Yemen is witnessing on the upcoming period developments in the democratic political action and developmental economic building all of which will contribute to fighting corruption and limiting of unemployment.
In a speech he delivered Sunday evening in addressing the Yemeni people on the occasion of the Eid Al-Fitr the president of the republic said there will be the finalizing of many legislations and laws and taking executive measures enhancing the democratic practice. Among them are the elections of governors and heads of districts all over Yemen. President Saleh stressed the necessity of fighting corruption and poverty and limiting unemployment, providing job opportunities and improvement living conditions of the citizens.
The president also called all the people to join forces in one front for undertaking the coming tasks for the construction if new Yemen and making the better future, emphasizing that the homeland is for all and spacious enough for all of us. The president also considered the democratic festivity in Yemen on 20 September as a new beginning in depth of the democratic process of the Yemeni people, clarifying that the fruit of the great success is for all levels of construction, development and progress and victory for the people’s higher interests. The great fruit is also for enhancement of democracy, public liberties and human rights and embodiment of the principle of peaceful transfer of power and expansion of people’s participation, reiterating the call for all in the country, political parties and individuals, to open a new chapter of cooperation, adhesion, tolerance and surmounting impact resulted from the election campaign.
President Saleh affirmed that he will be always loyal to the confidence the people have granted him for maintaining the march of construction, development, security, stability, prosperity and undertaking the tasks of the upcoming period at all domestic levels and the relations of cooperation and partnership with Arab brethren and friends in an actual and sincere translation of the pledge of the General People’s Congress in its presidential and local elections platform.
The president also expressed his looking forward that the donors conference scheduled in London next November to result in hoped for outcome to support the march of development and democracy in Yemen and consolidation of economic partnership and integration between Yemen and its sisterly countries of the GCC.
