Almotamar Net - SANAA- President Ali Abdullah Saleh stressed on the importance of spreading education and educating people about the Islamic teachings that are based on moderation, away from extremism. Almotamar.net - SANA'A- President Ali Abdullah Saleh stressed on the importance of spreading education and educating people about the Islamic teachings that are based on moderation, away from extremism.
"Extremism begets extremism and violence begets violence, while moderation begets peace, security. We love peace and maintain it, and preserve the stability of our country," Saleh said today during his visit to al-Iman University.

"We are fully convinced that this is a private university, which we should care for as much as we care for the rest of the universities, for it reduces the burden of the government," Saleh added.
Addressing the students of al-Iman University, Saleh said, "We want you to be the party of the country, of revolution, of unification, along with Sheikh Abdul-Majeed al-Zindani, who is one of the revolution magnates, on whom we depend as a teacher and president of the university; and we shall lend a helping hand to him and work towards building this university in a sound, educational way. The ministry of higher education will help the university in any curriculum or experience. It is untrue that this university is a haven for terrorism. If it was so, then the president of the country wouldn't be present in this place. This university is one of the revolution's camps, a camp for illuminating education that calls for moderation."
Additionally, Saleh stated the graduates of al-Iman University in the field of Sharia can be qualified to join the higher judiciary institution. "If they [the university's graduates] are qualified, then they can join the judiciary field, like those who graduate from other universities," he added.
"You are our sons and are not a political card that can be used as others want. Your stance during the elections was great," Saleh addressed the students.
"Thanks God, al-Iman University was never at the hands of anyone but the country, which welcomes you and takes you as children and brothers."
Saleh also stressed on the importance of diversity as it is impossible to" fuse the nation's thinking in one mold, except for faith. Variation in specializations and doctrines is allowed."
Saleh called on the students to make people love Islam and not alienate them. "Now our religious scholars can move in different areas of the country safely and with full freedom. And you will go to governorates for practical practice. No one would harass you."
Sheikh al-Zindani delivered a speech in which he welcomed President Saleh, appreciating his paying attention to the university since its establishment. "President Saleh's caring for the university is a fruit of his gifts for spreading education and creating a generation in an educational, perfect way," he said. Al-Zindani affirmed the graduates of the university believe in moderation
