Mohammed Tahir Almotamar.net - SANAA- General People’s Congress assistant secretary General for Intellect and Information Sector sultan al-Barakani expressed astonishment of Yemeni opposition parties in dealing through its media with the important international event of London conference concerned with the brethren and friends interest in development in Yemen and effective contribution to it.
Mr. al-Barakani has denounced the leading member in the Yemen socialist party Ali al-Sarari’s description of London conference as “intimidating begging”, clarifying that that London conference is not the way they understand or in which the YSP had lived at the table of the former Soviet Union throughout the years of its government. From that manner the sons of the south did not benefit and while the matter is quite different. The joint interests among people and the active contribution to development process in any country , whether by the brothers in the GCC or the friends is in fact a recognition of Yemen’s effective role in the world and the importance of the role and policy, as well as the importance of Yemen location and the present approach is but evidence of seriousness of the regime and the world respect for it.
In his statement to almotamar.net al-Barakanirr ridiculed the query of Mohammed al-Dhahiri, from political sciences at Sana’a University about the reason why one million and a half out of six millions had voted against the president. Mr. al-Barakani commented that “ I do not think what claims that holds a PhD degree, “ considering the question as exposing ignorance of the4 simplest concepts of democracy that could not direct balloting boxes to 100% whoever the candidate was because that disagrees with the real function and values of democracy but rather agrees with the nature of and despotism cherished by totalitarian regimes.
Al-Barakani considered that the talk about London conference aimed for propaganda goals ( as al-Sarari mentioned in press statements and that the would have respected us and come to us if we had accepted the Joint Meeting project for reforms) as he who said that phrase does not realize that the Yemeni voter’s refusal of that “jellylike” project was enough top take it the angle of forgetfulness, if was a project. As for the truth it did not bear any form of a project except its call of the promised committee the project of communism dreamed about previously.
Al-Barakani wondered if “ we as Yemenis would have made the subject of international cooperation as our issue and that of the ruling party alone and that respect and serious support for Yemen deserves from all of us to grow up and solve whatever was negative in that and also join forces for safe accomplishment instead of political renunciations and illusions the JMP has been using for the last months, calling al-Sarari and his likes to benefit from results of 20 September, but he forgave al-Sarari and wished him to raise in his ideas and not to be the one who craws and knows nothing but denial. Al-Barakani added “ He and the rest of the JMP leaders should be the first to bless any accomplishment achieved in this country and to give this country and its people their attention through their parliamentary blocs to contribute to the march of reforms we are witnessing and vote for the draft laws presently submitted to the parliament, such as the law on corruption, tenders and biddings, the public debt, econo9mic development plans, the law on developing the local authority and election of its heads instead of denying everything. .
