Almotamar Net - SANAA- A British businesswoman, who is of Yemeni origin, said she is determined, along with other four investors, to set up the first Arab satellite channel in the middle east next year with a capital amounting to about USD 45 million. Jamil al-Jadabi(almotamar.net) - SANA'A- A British businesswoman, who is of Yemeni origin, said she is determined, along with other four investors, to set up the first Arab satellite channel in the middle east next year with a capital amounting to about USD 45 million.
Faiza al-Breiki, the businesswomen, said she owns 60 percent of the London-based satellite channel, which will start broadcasting next year, with 350 employees, a number that will increase to 1,500 over the next three years.
The British authorities have granted al-Breiki a license to set up the satellite channel. She told almotamar.net that the channel will shed light on humanitarian and social problems in the Arab states, like poverty, unemployment, human rights, women and children issues, to be reflected through real issues that seek to tackle the reasons behind these problems, with finding solutions to them.
Al-Breiki considered this project as a big challenge for her and her partners, affirming the channel wouldn't target specific figures or countries. "We just want to reflect the real situation we live in: real events, people and issues," she said.
According to al-Breiki, the spectators will be able to contact the new satellite channel, in special programs, where they can brief their problems. The channel will offer solutions to the most prominent problems in coordination with the channel's team in other countries that will move to visit the people and tackle their problems.
Al-Breiki criticized the Arab satellite channels that have nothing to do with the true state of affairs in the Arab world, adding these channels present programs that are not valuable in an effort to escape the reality.
