almotamar.net - An elite group of Yemeni academics, intellectuals and innovative have Thursday declared in Sana'a a civil organisation of "Progress & Advancement Forum.
In the founding meeting of the forum the representative of the ministry of social affairs and labour read out names of the founder, members who unanimously elected Mr. Yahya Mohammed Abdullah Saleh as chairman of the forum.
The Forum's meeting elected the executive bureau members and the monitoring committee.
The meeting has discussed some articles of the law of procedures of the forum and was approved by the general assembly. The declaration of the new organisation came as a product of discussions among the founder members lasted for several months after the maturity of the idea of and concept of progress and advancement and in the manner of effecting advancement and progress that includes the Yemeni home; and human.
In his speech, the chairman of the forum Yahya Mohammed Abdullah Saleh said," With the convening of our forum for the declaration of the establishment of Progress and Advancement Forum and approval of the documents we have taken a significant step for achievement of our wishes and ambitions for living in a homeland that we and our history deserves taking into account that our ancestors had contributed seriously to the human civilization," pointing out to what the yemen previous man had offered of creative examples in innovating solutions through which he overcame the difficult circumstances that were surrounding him.
Talking about the ancient Yemenis he added that they offered advanced political systems compared to the then other political systems, making the old Yemeni state as advanced so that the Yemeni ancient civilization became among most prominent civilizations at that time.
On the idea of the establishment of the forum Mr. Saleh said it has proceeded from that the Yemeni people have throughout the last fifty years achieved very important historical achievements represented by victory of the Yemeni revolution of 26 September and 14 October and the Yemeni unity as well as building the constitution and the law according to a democratic pursuit whose base is expanding day after day.
Yahya Saleh also said Activities of the forum will advance towards rendering care for the national culture, deepening the national loyalty, interest in public freedoms, human rights and the women political and social rights in addition to care for environmental matters in defence and protection of it.
