Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the leader of the ruling General People’s Congress Party (GPC) emphasized Monday the necessity of activating political and organizational action inside arty and “finding integration and coordination inside the GPC between the political work, executive work and the parliamentary bloc of the GPC in the way translating and guaranteeing imp; lamentation of its programmes and for the service of the homeland and the citizens.”

Addressing members of the GPC’s general Secretariat at a meeting he presided over the president added “Your task in the political work is greater and more important than the executive action so that the GPC undertakes facing all existing national dues, at the forefront of which are upcoming parliamentary elections in 2009.”

President Saleh also stressed orientations of the GPC in separating between the partisan work and the executive work but in the extremely necessary cases as dictated by the general interest, indicating the significance of pre-coordination between the GPC GS, the government and the parliamentary bloc, he clarified that that should be with regard to decisions and laws that are to be discussed by the government and the parliament , confirming that would “ enrich those decisions and laws with positive remarks and realise consistency between the political work and the executive work inside the GPC.”

Leader of the GPC also stressed importance of performance of the GPC and its different leader and base formations for upgrading its responsibilities as a pioneering national organisation the political and developmental process in Yemen and in particular the mobilization of efforts for implementation of the electoral platform of the candidate of the GPC for the presidential elections Yemen has witnessed last September

President Saleh said “The GPC is facing great challenges it should deal with enthusiasm and competence as it had done in the past period for serving the people who granted their trust to the GPC and serving the homeland to which the GPC has remained to be loyal to at all periods and circumstances.” The president affirmed the importance of the upcoming stage and the tasks that should be undertaken.

With respect to performance of the party branches in the governorates the president their act should be activated and also the activation of the role of members of the GPC in the local authority with the aim of upgrading their responsibilities and duties for serving issues of the citizens and to live to the trust granted to them.

President Saleh said the GPC members in the general secretariat, the government and the parliamentary bloc have to work with the spirit of a one team for the fulfillment of their risks and duties assigned to them in the manner that achieves the aspired for national purposes, wishing them success in the way serving the homeland and the public interest.

The GPC meeting chaired by president Saleh the leader of the GPC included the secretary general of the party Abdulqader Bajammal and members of the general secretariat has taken decisions aimed at enhancement and activation the role of the GPC in the upcoming stage and urged the general secretariat to field action and activation of meetings of permanent committees in the branches of the party in the capital and the governorates.
