aLMOTAMAR.NET gULF nEWS - Dubai: The UAE national Olympic team meet Yemen in a Group F Olympic qualifier at Sharjah Stadium today. Kick off is at 7:30 pm. The match is of great importance for UAE. A win will revive hope of clinching the second place of the group and a place in the the second round that leads to the Beijing Olympic Games next year.
UAE have three points from three matches. They lost to Uzbekistan and Korea but won one match (2-1) against Yemen in Sanaa.
The visitors have no hope after losing all three matches and are at the bottom of Group F.
UAE played a warm-up match last Friday against Iraq which they lost 4-0.
The UAE coach Alex Duponte said that his players were not affected by the defeat which was a good lesson through which they discovered some mistakes which they have corrected before today's match.
Duponte asked the UAE supporters to come to Sharjah Stadium today and support the team so that the players' morale will be lifted and they give their best to their country.
UAE striker Mohammad Al Sheh'hi who scored the winner against Yemen in Sanaa last month will be absent today due to the red card he got after he hit the winner in the last minute.
