Almotamar.net - A modern study made it clear that the number of subscribers to the mobile telephone with the companies offering this service in Yemen amounted to more than three million and 100 thousands.
The study prepared by Samira Abdullah Mohammed, assistant deputy at the ministry of communications and information technology indicated that the number of internet in Yemen has not reached to 250 thousand persons in 2006. the study, to be presented at the international symposium on the safe methods for dealing with electromagnetic radiations emitted by wireless stations to be held on 28-30 of this month, affirmed that the proportion of danger of those radiations in Yemen is still small and will be null through abiding by criteria and standards of and monitoring radiations and avoiding them.
In her study Samira called the attention to the great challenges Yemen is to face with regard to building information society, attributing that to law standards of knowledge and spread of illiteracy as well as most members of the society ignores how to deal with this technology and its equipment.
More than 100 experts and researchers are to discuss in Sana'a late of this month mechanisms and methods of preventing the dangers of using mobile telephones and effect of wireless stations on the human and the environment.
In a statement to almotamar.net the minister of communications Eng, Kamal al-Jabri pointed out priority of this subject on agenda of the ministry that adopts criteria of international safety for protection of the citizens.
