In his address in the Shoura Council opening the discussion on the draft amendment of the local authority law sent to it by the president of the republic Abdulghani said that part of that activity will begin on Sunday by beginning of the investment exploration conference under Yemeni and Gulf official sponsorship. He said it an unprecedented gathering attended by big investors from Yemen, Arab Peninsula, the Gulf and the rest of the Arab homeland as well as the world. He added that the conference represents one of the outstanding of decisions the London donor conference had come out with and strongly expresses the level the Yemeni Gulf partnership has attained at this stage.
Mr. Abdulghani described the amendments of the local authority law as among the important national requirements which the president's election platform promised and the entrance towards radical change in the structure of the local authority towards full embodiment of the administrative and financial decentralization principle. He added that the amount of the change in the local authority law has opened the way for election of the head of local authority in the governorate and the districts and also allows the restructuring of the local authority in a way allowing the local councils to perform their developmental role with full financial and administrative powers.
