almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has reiterated Wednesday the request from the United States of America for lifting the name of Sheikh Abdulmajd Al-Zindani from the list of those accused of supporting terror and to hand over Sheikh Mohammed al-Mouayad and his colleague Mohammed Zaid to Yemen as well as the release of the Yemenis detained in Guantanamo and to hand them over to Yemen.
The request came during the president's meeting at his residency in Washington with advisor to the American president for security affairs where there was discussion of bilateral relations and areas of cooperation particularly in security and fighting terror in addition to situations of Yemenis detained in Guantanamo.
On her part the American president's advisor for security affairs praised Yemen's efforts in fighting terror and its successes in this regard, pointing out the partnership existing relation between the two countries and affirmed the US support for Yemen in its efforts in the economic area, the reforms and fighting terror. She said the United States considers what Yemen does as an active partner of the international community in the war against terror.
The meeting was attended by the Yemeni foreign minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, the secretary general of the presidency Abdullah Hussein al-Bashiri, deputy chairman of the central apparatus for political security Brigadier Ali Mansour Rashid, Brigadier General Jalal al-Ruwaishan deputy of the national security apparatus, and the Yemeni ambassador to the US and the US ambassador to Yemen.
