Almotamar.net Saba - Yemen vice-President Abidrebah Mansour Hadi said Tuesday Yemen believes that solving the conflict and problems in the Arab and African regions will only be by implementing resolutions of the international legitimacy and ending the policy of dibble standard and putting an end to occupation of Palestine, Iraq, the Syrian Golan Heights and Lebanese Shaba Farms.
In his opening of the second conference of the Association of Senate, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab world in Sana'a this morning, the Yemeni vice-president called on the international community to oblige Israel accept the Arab peace initiative approved by Beirut Arab summit and confirmed at the Riyadh summit in the manner guaranteeing end of occupation of the Arab territories and the establishment of the Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital as well as the return of Palestinian refugees as this represents the road of establishing just peace in the region.
The vice president said Yemen witnessed last year presidential and local elections in contesting and free climates testified by all locally and externally and embodied the truthfulness of the democratic pluralist pursuit Yemen experiences. He said the democracy that Yemen adopts as a firm approach in the life of our society and was not imposed by any side but in response to deep-rooted conviction that it is the best way for the realization of all national goals and purposes aspired for construction and making progress for the homeland.
H added that Yemenis intent to implement the parliamentary bi-cameral system and there will be a constitutional amendment through which powers will be granted to the shura council regarding legislation in the way regulating the relation between the parliament and the shura council on the basis of two houses.
He called on the ASSECAA to go ahead in implementing the new programme which has many important issues especially pertaining activation of economic cooperation among the African and the Arab countries through the private sector. The vice president also praised the formation of a committee for peace and security saying it will have its effective impact in lessening the burden of the problems the two regions are suffering and also in enhancement of regional and international initiatives targeting the same direction.
On his part the chairman of the ASSECAA Abdulaziz Abdulghani affirmed that the phenomenon of terror facing forms one of the great challenges to our world and facing it and exterminating it is a priority for all of us. He said however we are concerned to differentiate between terror and legitimate resistance of peoples for getting their legitimate rights.
