Almotamar.net - Head of the information office at the General People's Congress (GPC) Tariq al-Shamy on Friday confirmed recalling Yemen's ambassador to Libya, adding that the decision also includes recalling Yemen's ambassador to Iran.
Al-Shamy said summoning the two ambassadors is not related to cutting off relations but rather a recalling for consultation and assessment of the attitude because there is a wide people's demand for making the relations with the two countries clear.
Al-Shamy added Yemen does not accept countries using poverty and need to settle agendas on its territories, affirming in a statement to Al-Jazeera TV Channel that information and documents brought by honourable citizens prove the external support for the terrorist elements in Saada and that support include a media and political cover and materially it is represented by modern weapons.
Head of the GPC information office deemed that Arab mediations did not bring about something new because what they propose has been offered by the Yemeni government already to al-Houthi gangs but they continued in their evil deeds.
Almotamar.net had earlier reported the news of summoning Yemen's ambassador to Libya to return home. The decision of recalling the ambassador came a day after people demands for severing relations of Yemen with Libya and closure of its embassy in Yemen based on accusations on Libya's involvement in supporting the terrorist elements that the terrorist Abdulmalik al-Houthi is leading in some areas of Saada.
The tribesmen and different segments of the population of Saada governorate demanded the political leadership and the government to cut off the ties with Libya and close down its embassy in Yemen because of what they said of Libyan support for the terrorist elements in some areas of Saada.
In its meeting on Thursday the GPC General Committee, presided over by president Ali Abdullah Saleh, reviewed developments of events in Saada and the role that some external sides are playing in agitating the situations there and spreading seeds of sedition inside the Yemeni society with the aim of settling their accounts with some regional and international parties. The meeting affirmed the danger of those sides acts against the people of Yemen. The General Committee considered that as unacceptable interference in the Yemeni affair and should be confronted strongly.
