Almotamar.net - The secretary-General of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulqader Bajammal the GPC's launching of permanent committees conferences all over governorates of Yemen is an expression of a new stage in "our political, intellectual and cultural life." Bajammal, who was talking in a meeting of the local permanent committee in Taiz Sunday, added those meetings should be a real start and focalized in their goals and steps. He added, "With this we inaugurate preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections and such preparation must be early and that is a basic and essential thing."
The Secretary-General asked members of the permanent committee to work for founding real organisation profession and that those meetings aim at achieving that purpose. He also announced that the General Secretariat has decided to build offices for the GPC in all districts of the same design, stressing intensification of monitoring role in an effective way on the branches and to single out those who offend the GPC and because of who the GPC has lost many votes in the previous elections in the governorates.
The Secretary-General asked the members in the parliament to assess themselves in their constituencies and to assess profit and loss. He also demanded the necessity of confronting the rise in prices by considering the monopolistic way by some merchants as absolutely unacceptable and big efforts must be dome to curb this situation.
On his part Qadi Ahmed Abdullah al-Hijri member of the General Committee and chairman of the executive body on Taiz governorate said it was very necessary to " be proud that the organisations of the GPC is under leadership of president Ali Abdullah Saleh and there are among its cadres and leaders people make us be assured about our country.." He said the past experience of elections and the active movement presently carried out adding that "we are living the peaceful transfer of power away from brilliant and void slogans."
Al-Hijri praised efforts of the secretary general of the GPC who stressed that the organisation must in this stage pioneering in all fields hoping that the day comes when the women will occupy hall of the meeting hall, praising their role as they work in coordination and solidarity unlike the men.
The Member of Parliament and head of the GPC branch Sheikh Jaber Abdullah Ghaleb presented a detailed report on the govern rate's branch work in the previous period and the govern rate's activity in the local and presidential election and their results in favour of candidates of the GPC. He praised the efforts of the GPC members in the achievement of that and reviewed the branch's activities in various areas as well as the requirements and problems the branch was facing.
The meting witnessed many remarks and visions by a number of the members and at the conclusion of the session the participants dispatched a telegram to the president of the republic. They said they were pleased for holding the meeting of the local permanent committee of the GPC in Taiz and it was devoted discuss a number of issues mainly the painful events going on in the governorate of Saada. They said in their telegram they have followed up those events that began with a limited rebellion led by the killed terrorist Hussein Badrudin al-Houthi then developed to a series of terrorist and criminal acts aimed at armed forces and security. They pledged and vowed that they and all sons of the homeland to stand by heroes of the armed forces and the security who are defending the homeland and protection of its unity, security and stability.
