Almotamar.net - Chairman of Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS) Nassr Taha Mustafa affirmed that the meeting of the YJS on Sunday with the Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Mujwar yielded good results. The most prominent of those results are directives of the premier on referring the draft law of journalists job description to the civil service to be adopted after consultation with the YJS.
Mr. Mustafa told almotamar.net that the meeting was with the prime minister and the deputy premier, minister of interior DR Rashad al-Alimi and it was a meeting characterized by objectivity and frankness and resulted in solutions of the issues the YJS has presented in the forefront of which the release of the blocked electronic websites and directed the ministry of information to prepare an urgent temporary regulation for regulating the SMS service of mobile phones in a way to be included in amendments of the press and publications law as well as speeding it up after discussing all amendments and agreement on them with the YJS.
Chairman of the Yemeni journalists added that the prime minister promised to give his directives to members of the cabinet to respond with all journalists without any exception and affirmed there will be an official spokesman fourth government to facilitate the process of the journalist access to information in addition to a spokesmen for the ministries of interior and foreign affairs. Mr. Mustafa also said the meeting resulted in an agreement on the importance of a code of ethics for the press in Yemen and the YJS council affirmed the code of ethics will be ready during the next month.
