Almotamar.net - Director of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Yemen Wednesday the success of Yemen in the area of democracy has not happened just in a blink of the eye or overnight but rather was the genuine result of continuous progress.

The NDI director also expressed his deep-rooted belief that this democracy will be accepted in the Arab world through measuring its development and determination in a convenient way.

The American official who was speaking in opening of the preparatory meeting for declaring the Arab Charter of democracy for the establishment of the Arab democratic movement said it is suitable for us to be in Yemen where democracy has achieved admirable success.

At the time the director of NDI hailed President Ali Abdullah Saleh's orientations supporting development of democracy in Yemen there appeared signs of gloominess on faces of a number of leading personalities of opposition parties in the Joint Meeting Parties who were present at the meeting

Delegate of the JMP leaderships told almotamar.net that leaderships in the JMP exchanged words expressing annoyance towards the praise of the American official of president Saleh orientations in the field of developing democracy in Yemen.
