Jamil Jaadabi Almotamar.net - The Yemeni ministry of interior announced Thursday it has sent a 15-element terrorist cell from followers of terrorists leader in Saada to judiciary authorities because of their involvement in perpetrating a number of crimes in the capital Sana'a, among them poisoning drinking-water tanks, destruction of important installations and targeting senior personalities.
The deputy premier, minister of interior presented on Wednesday a pictorial report to the parliament on the terrorist cell and that two Yemeni polio officers were killed during the operation of arresting the cell members.
Sending the new terrorist cell to stand trial comes at the time when 36 terrorists of al-Houthi followers are under trial. These terrorists were previously arrested involved in issues and criminal acts similar acts and thus the number of terrorist elements from al-Houthi followers some of whom were tried and others are still under trial amounted to more than 50 elements.
In late last month the minister of interior Dr Rashad Al-Alimi announced in a press conference in Sana'a that security men managed to defuse 5 explosive charges planted by al-Houthi terrorist elements in separate areas in the capital on the eve of celebrating the 17th national day of Yemen and in the same day an explosive charge went off causing the death of one child and wounding of another.
Meanwhile an interior ministry official source said yesterday security men in the governorate of Mareb captured terrorist wanted for the same acts and another one killed in exchange of fire with security men who spotted and chased them in the district of Sarwah in Mareb.
On the other hand the interior minister said al-Houthi followers terrorists had in 2005 carried out 14 terrorist acts in the capital resulted in the martyrdom of Ahmed al-Mouayad and the injury of 24 persons. He added that whenever the grip is tightened against them in some areas of Saada they would send their elements to target innocent people in the capital.
Since their starting of the war in Saada for the last months the terrorists there have intentionally worked for stopping development projects there, setting fire and plundering hospitals and health and educational institutions and destruction of roads in addition to attacks on citizens' properties and lives.
In the mid of last February al-Houthi terrorists killed a school teacher in the district of Haydan, Saada, while other elements hanged a resident of Dhahyan district, killed the former secretary general of Majaz local council. All those crimes lately carried out by the terrorists reflect a state of hatred and addition to revenge from the inhabitants of the governorate and destruction of its development.
In late January this year six Yemeni soldiers met martyrdom and 20 others wounded in a terrorist attack on a number of military positions and by that the terrorists proved breaking promises and commitments to the state in ending their sabotage acts and to be good citizens abiding by law and order and refusing at the same time to respond to the presidential pardon decision from which many of them benefited.
On 12 of last March soldiers from the armed forces were able to capture a terrorist cell of 11 elements before they managed to enter Saada disguised in woman's clothes. They were carrying explosive belts and explosives and intended to implement sabotage acts besides terrorizing citizens there.
In the capital security men arrested 4 persons on 27 of last February who were raising money to send them to the terrorists in some mountains of Saada. At that time the Yemeni minister of defence affirmed that acts carried out by elements of terrorism inflicted damage on security and stability of the governorate and created fear and horror among the inhabitants of the governorate. Those acts, he added, caused the destruction of their properties and kidnapping and killing of their daughters. That has later disclosed the existence of hostile parties the official sources revealed they are implementing hostile schemes intending to settle their accounts on the Yemeni territories and at the expense of Yemen's interest.
On the other hand the specialised penal court had on 22 November 2006 approved results of the trial of the first terrorist cell of executing the firs accused and the imprisonment of 25 others for terms between three to ten years.
In May 2005 security authorities arrested the leader of the first cell and other members of the cell who were hurling hand grenades on some public facilities in the capital and on cars belonging to officials at the ministry of defence.
Moreover the general prosecution completed in July of the same year files of 38 persons from those carrying out blasting acts and throwing bombs at military men in the capital. Those were called the Sana'a Cell affiliated to al-Houthi and were sent to stand trial at the same date.
