Almotamar.net - Yemen's foreign minister Dr Abubakr Al-Qirbi revealed Friday that the Yemeni republic was still receiving less than 50% of what any other developing country receives from donor countries.

In an address he delivered in London on Friday delivered to a host of politicians, academics and those interested in Yemen and Middle Eat affairs in a meeting organised by the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) al-Qirbi praised contributions of the British government to support Yemen's efforts of development.

The Yemeni minister said Yemen's development partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council States, the European Union countries and the United States of America would help it break the development gap and achieve progress in all areas of fighting poverty and raising the living standard of its citizens.
The foreign minister also talked on the Yemen's progress in the democratic and development process and the difficulties it faced in the reunification of the country and its achievement on 22 May 1990. h also touched on successes Yemen has realized at the level of economic, financial and administrative reforms, pointing out that the government implementation of national reforms, included in the election platform of the president of the republic, would drive the country to forward stages of sustainable development and building the structures of a modern state in the manner qualifying it to join the regional economic system of the GCC state.

The foreign minister had met Friday at the building of the Yemeni embassy in London a host of Arab journalists and correspondents of Arab news agencies.

During thee meetings in London the minister dealt with the Yemeni-British relations and means of developing them in the future as well as his results of his talks with British officials at the foreign and international development ministries on subjects related to bilateral cooperation and regional and international developments.
