Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh received Monday evening a telephone call from the Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero during which the two leaders have discussed the terrorist incident to which a number of Spanish tourists were exposed and led to the death of 7 of them and the injury of six others in addition to the killing of two Yemeni citizens and injury of two others.
President Saleh expressed to the Spanish premier his deep regret, denunciation and condemnation and with him all the Yemeni people for the terrorist incident which all indications point the finger to al-Qaeda organisation. President Saleh affirmed that those behind the criminal act will not escape deterring punishment
The president also expressed his condolences in his name and on behalf of the Yemeni people and government to the Spanish government and friendly people wishing his condolences to be conveyed to families of the victims.
President Saleh also said the latest terrorist criminal incident was not the first one that yeomen and its friends in the world are exposed to. The president cited al-Qaeda organisation and its terrorist elements had perpetrated the attack on the American destroyer USS Cole, the French oil tanker Limburg and other oil installations while the United States of America came under terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.
