Almotamar.net - Yemeni and American youths held a dialogue meeting in Sana'a on Sunday dedicated to discussing the United States of America's policy towards Arabs and Muslims.
A number of Americans at the meeting admitted that the policy of their country is surrounded with some ambiguity in dealing with Arabs and Muslims. At the same time they pointed out the influence of acts of violence by hard line Islamists against Americans especially the events of 11 September. They said that helped form American mentality characterized by enmity towards them and with role of the media that stance has resulted in an American negative look of Muslims in general.
In return Yemenis considered that America's policies have resulted in accumulations with Muslims and those strengthened the belief that the United States is a country practices hegemony on weak countries through utilizing some individual operations against its interests as a pretext for interfering in internal affairs of those countries. They gave examples on that by using the pretext of terror to occupy Afghanistan and Iraq in addition to following double standard in dealing with the Palestinian issue through adopting biased and in favour of Israel and describing the Palestinian resistance as terror.
Other participants in the dialogue from both sides held Americans common responsible for misunderstanding among them.
