While there is no information on the size of the explosion which happened at three o'clock pm on Sunday so far, the sources told almotamar.net that a team from civilian and military experts traveled there to prepare a report on the volcanic eruption.

The sources added that the team was forced to travel to the island by sea after the plane which carried them to the island failed to land on the island.

Meanwhile, the deputy director general of the seismographic centre in Thamar Eng. Hussein Abdullah Farie said the centre monitored quakes in the area situated near the island and registered 3.7 degrees on Richter scale on 28 September and the quakes in that area began since 7 September and increased on 23 and 24 September. Nevertheless, he affirmed it cannot be confirmed there is a volcanic activity but after landing of the geological team and be certain of volcanic lava.

26september.net quoted the engineer as saying that hat the centre received a number of reports on a volcanic activity near the Jabal Al-Tair island but that information cannot be depended on since it is from persons who are not specialists and one cannot be certain about the matter but after results of the report by the geological team in the area.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
