- The General People's Congress (GPC)'s Assistant Secretary General for Information Sector Sultan al-Barakani affirmed the GPC' keenness on consolidating the principle of dialogue and deepening it in addition to solving any problems that affect the social peace and political and psychological stability. He pointed out the attempts of the some t impede the investment project through creation of a deformed image of the state of stability Yemen is experiencing. Out of their ignorance that the homeland id the bigger and the priority, regardless of the rule, the y think such a state of stability would strengthen the position of the authority and make it able to meet its pledges to improve the living standard of the citizen by creation of job opportunities, enhancement of the economy growth and creation of common interests.
In his participation in Khor Maksar Cultural and Social Forum in Aden at the end of last week, al-Barakani said," How regretful is to hear about putting forward of unrealistic perceptions and intentions and projects incompatible with what we have to put on the table of discussion regarding problems and hindrances or mistakes and failures. The reason is that the homeland did not commit a mistake and the national and Yemeni unity has not committed any guilt. If there were any mistakes they are the making of the human so why don't we criticise them and resent their mistakes?" Al-Barakani added that some forces have preferred propaganda and deformation of the image of Yemen to the programmed work and insisted to be just an opposition. He said nevertheless the role of the intellectuals and civil society organisations is now demanded because they represent live forces in the society.
Al-Barakani indicted that the attempt to shift from one square to another would damage the civilization project of Yemen and to allow the traditional forces wherever they were to act against the project is a crime, those who believe in the project shoulder the responsibility for raising and defending it.
He said the project that president Ali Abdullah Saleh has put forward for the development of the political and democratic system carried with it ambitions and solutions that " we think putting them into force is a guarantee for the future of our generations, whether regarding the change of the political system form or the right to the people's participation through the establishment of full local rule or the subject of the woman participation in the elected organisations with a 15% share. "
The Assistant Secretary General of the GPC added that those were the positive issues that the president is keen to make all political forces; parties and civil society organisations, contribute to them through dialogue regardless of the fact that the GPC possesses a parliamentary majority for approving them, taking into consideration that the homeland is the issue of all and development of the political work is among the necessities " we are all responsible for."
