almotamar.net - Participants in the workshop on managing and carrying out health insurance emphasised the necessity of laying the foundation for building Health Insurance Fund and founding organisational structure to run the fund in the way guaranteeing success of its goals to reach the secure social health insurance for all its participants in Yemen.
That came in the workshop organised by the Yemeni ministry of health in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on 28-31 last October. The workshop was attended by a number of relevant institutions, representatives of trade unions and health officials in the governorates.
In a statement to almotamar.net the director general of insurance at the health ministry Dr Saleh Fadaq said the workshop is considered one of the basic stages which lay the foundation for the function of health insurance in Yemen.
He indicated that the project of health insurance was approved by the cabinet and it was on its way to the parliament for endorsement.
It is worth mentioning that health insurance is one of the most important paragraphs in the platform of the presidential elections and one of the priorities of the policy of the ministry of health in Yemen.
