almotamar.net - Head of the Information Office at the General People's Congress (GPC) Tareq al-Shamy asserted Friday the GOC keenness on success of the dialogue with political parties and organisations including the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) so that there would be positive results and outputs of the dialogue and should not be impeding the constitutional and legal dues.
Al-Shamy has also called on the JMP to deal seriously with the call of the president of the republic that he re-announced in his speech on the 40th anniversary of the Independence Day, on all political parties and organisations in Yemen for the serious and responsible dialogue.
Al-Shamy called on leadership of the JMP to keep away from the mentality and practices it has adopted in the previous periods and made the dialogue itself as an aim without reaching results. He said parties of the JMP did not present any logical excuse for their backing down from the agreement of principles concerning formation of the supreme commission for election from judges and that they have refused dealing with alternatives that are in accord with bases and principles of democracy. He added that indicates there is a tendency for hindering the upcoming parliamentary elections and that has put the constitutional establishments in a critical situation due to the constitutional and legal vacuum position of the election commission.
Al-Shamy announced that the GPC did not cut the dialogue with the JMP and it is ready to hold dialogue on the list of 22 nominees to be presented by the Judiciary Higher Council to the parliament and to agree with the political forces on members of the supreme commission for election from that list.
He also wondered why leaders of the JMP were annoyed of president Ali Abdullah Saleh's call for leaders abroad to return to the homeland and practice political activity whether within their parties or through founding new parties, saying the president of the republic deals with all issues as a national leader according to future horizon and vision. He commented on stance of some leaders of the JMP regarding that as being not confident of themselves and view that would reduce their influence and hegemony, saying those leaderships as working for tensing the political atmospheres and fabricating crises through their immoral stances and statements that are far from responsibility and by that they do not serve the homeland or their parties but rather the conspiratorial schemes for impeding the Arab and Islamic nation.
Al-Shamy called on all the national leaders in the JMP to stand against practices of those leaders that claim to be representing their parties and expressing their opinion and trends. H added that the society is still looking at those parties through a national perspective.
Al-Shamy said the picture has thus become so clear and that the elements that were outbidding in the name of the retired rights have unmasked their faces and revealed that the goal was political targeting the unity of the homeland and instigating hatred and destabilization security of the society as well as hindrance of the development process. He said the responsibility in on the shoulder, beside the state institutions, lies on all live forces in the society to stand up to such elements and their practices.
