Almotamar.net - Yemen announced Friday its acceptance to attend the emergency meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers called for by Egypt and Saudi Arabia to discuss developments of events in Lebanon.
President Ali Abdullah Saleh Thursday evening made intensive phone contacts with a number of Arab leaders and Lebanese leaderships for the containment of the regrettable developments Lebanon has seen during the past two days, the aim of which is to heal the rift of the Lebanese national rank and to avoid slipping to sectarian sedition.
President Saleh contacted Kind Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, General Michel Sulaiman, commander of the Lebanese army, the Lebanese parliament speaker Nabieh Bari, Prime Minister Fuad Senyoura, Saad al-Hariri, leader of the Future Bloc, Hassan Nasrullah. Leader of Hezbollah, secretary general of the Arab League Amr Musa. President Saleh held consultations with them on the developments of situation in Lebanon in the light of violent acts that took place in the past two days.
Conversations with those leaders focused on suggesting authorization of General Sulaiman to manage dialogue in Lebanon and shoulder the responsibility of keeping Lebanon’s security, stability and national unity.
