Almotamar.net - The Yemeni human rights activist Izzudin al-Asbahi said Sunday the human rights campaign does not come but after comprehension and awareness of the society of these rights, he said consequently comes the significance of programmes for dissemination of knowledge of human rights and enhancement of these principles by training and qualification undertaken by trainers on human rights.
In an address to opening the course on training trainers in Doha Sunday organised by Human Rights Information and Training Centre (HRITC) in cooperation with the National Human Rights Committee in Qatar, he stressed the importance of the training course which includes a theoretical part presenting concepts in the area of human rights and a practical part on basics of training and the way of preparing for a training session. The participants in the training course would afterwards practice preparation and presenting actual training sessions.
On his part the Secretary General of the NHRC Dr Ali Bin Samikh al-Marri thanked in his address to the course the HRITC and all those who worked for preparing the training course. He said it aims at the core of enhancing and spreading the culture of human rights and laying the foundations of cooperation between the NHRC and the HRITC, both of which aim at preparing trained national cadres that would contribute to education in human rights.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
