Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Wednesday affirmed the necessity of taking advantage of the summer vacation in developing the talents of youth and their creativity by setting up summer camps and bringing lecturers from university professors and preachers of mosques to provide the youth with sciences and knowledge.
In his opening of the consultative meeting for leaderships of the youth action of the General People's Congress (GPC) in the governorates in Sana'a today, President Saleh called on the ministries of education and youth to shoulder their responsibility for attract the youth and enlighten them and using the summer vacation by activating the political and cultural work as wells the spiritual and national education among them.
In the meeting organised by the Youth and Students Office at the GPC the president said we reckoned that the first generation would depart with all of remains of the imamate and colonialist regimes and the totalitarian one and to be dealing with the generation of revolution and unity, with bright minds and nationalist that does not know but the revolution, republic, unity, freedom and democracy. But we have faced some deceived young elements in the governorate of Saada. "What we suffer at present in some district of Saada is a result of lack of national education."
The President said," We were divided and today united so we have to safeguard the youth in order to preserve this achievement because there are hostile forces eroding in the body of national unity and there are forces whose interests were harmed and thus resorted to talking about corruption and chaos." The president stressed the necessity of engaging the civil society organisations and the private sector for supporting the youth work and to offer all care and attention.
On his part the Acting Secretary General of the GPC Abdulrahman al-Akwaa stressed the necessity of activating the role of the youth and taking care of them in facing deviant and stray thoughts and for deepening national loyalty values.
He pointed out interest of the political leadership in the youth and keenness on providing job opportunities in small enterprises and projects of housing as well as distribution of arable lands among them and fishing boats and tourism industry.
