Jamil Jaadabi, almotamar.net - A source at the General People's Congress (GPC) on Saturday welcomed President Ali Abdullah Saleh's announcement of the end of hostilities in Saada districts, affirming that the president's announcement of the end of war in Saada comes out of his keenness on prevention of bloodshed.
The member of the General Committee of the GPC Yasser al-Awadhi congratulated the homeland, the people and the leader on the elapse of 30 years of giving and accomplishment at the anniversary of President Ali Abdullah Saleh as president of the republic on 17 July 1978.
In a statement to almotamar.net on the occasion al-Awadhi reviewed some of the president's distinguished characteristics and his full keenness on security, stability of the homeland and his wisdom in overcoming difficulties and leading the country to safety at the most difficult circumstances. Al-Awadhi pointed out the great changes that Yemen has witnessed in all political, economic, social and cultural fields during the three past decades of the president's rule. He also touched on the great challenges the republic has faced sine president Saleh assumed power and his fighting the battles of development, security and peace.
At the time when he welcomed the president's declaration of the end of the war in districts of Saada he praised the heroic roles of the army and the security and cooperation of the citizens of Saada governorate and some other governorates in defence of the revolution gains and protection of the republic, the unity and social peace.
