Almotamar.net - A General People's Congress (GPC)'s information sources on Wednesday described recent statements made by member of the Higher Body of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party (Islah) Mohammed Qahtan as an image reflecting reality of the sick psychology of Qahtan and that it is always repeated for many years.

The source the timing of those statements confirms the reality of the endeavour of some leaderships of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) for creating crises and impeding all efforts the GPC has exerted so that to reach an accord on the subjects of amendments of the elections law and formation of the supreme commission for elections, wondering about he reason why those statements are launched at this very time. The source did not rule out that the aim of the statements is a new attempt by some leaderships of the JMP to abort what has been agreed on.

The GPC source added, "We have been used to know about Qahtan of his endeavour to inflame fires and the attempt to export his psychological and political crises as well as the differences ongoing inside his party and inside the JMP in addition to his attempt to hold others responsible for those crises and psychological complexes."

The source expressed surprise about Qahtan annoyance of the praises by international organisations to Yemen and its democratic experiment, saying those should be a source of pride for every Yemeni citizen. But if, said the source, his being annoyed by those praises attributed to his and his party feeling failure in convincing those organisations with reports they send to those organisations, it would be something else.

The source commented that as regards Qahtan's statement on the woman rights, it would be something arousing regret for the state the Islah leaderships have reached. They issue legal opinions prohibiting the woman participation, saying "what is the avail of the proportional representation under the opinions that you issue on prohibition of the woman candidacy or assuming public posts?"

The GPC information source pointed out that what Qahtan has said on the national alliance represents a confirmation of the mentality of exclusion of others that dominates over the JMP leaderships regarding others and that is clear in their rejection to accept others by their refusing to accept and deal with others. This stand represents concepts of totalitarian mentality of which these leaderships could not abandon despite the elapse of more than one and a half decade of the democratic approach that deals with all political forces in Yemen in line with according to the concept of equality of rights and duties.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
