Almotamar.net - Members of parliament on Monday dropped the draft amendments of the elections law that was agreed on by the political parties because the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) failed to present names of their candidates to the elections commission.
DR Abdulrahman Bafadhl , head of the Islah Party parliamentary bloc had at the Sunday session of the parliament sworn by God to bring names of the JMP's candidates to the membership of the supreme commission for elections to the parliament today Monday.
Speaker of the parliament Yahya al-Raei said, "The intention of the JMP alliance by procrastination and not presenting the names of their candidates to elections commission is to impede the elections." The speaker of the parliament gave the members of parliaments two choices of either to vote on the operative law or the amended draft law that was scheduled to be put to voting on its final version and the MPs chose to vote on the operative law.
Since the beginning of Monday's session some MPs demanded the voting on the operative law and not to submit to procrastinations of the JMP especially after opening of the session was delayed in waiting for the JMP brings its representatives to the elections commission.
The parliament voted on a list containing 15 persons that are candidates for membership of the elections commission so that to be referred to the President of the Republic.
The list includes Khalid Abdulwahab al-Sharif , Abdullah Muhsin al-Akwaa, Abdeh Mohammed al-Janadi, Mohammed al-Sayyani, Abdulmumin Shujaudin , Dr |Abdullah Dahhan, Alawi al-Mashour, Sai Mohammed Saleh al-Sharaabi, Mohammed al-Saqqaf Balghaith, Abdulrahman Mahyoub , Saleh Sael, Abdulwahid Hawash , Nasser al-Nussairi, Dr Jaafar Basaeed Basaleh and Ramziyah al-Eryany.

MPs approve work according to operative election law
In 2007 the opposition Yemen Congregation for Reform (Islah) Islamic oriented Party maintained its having political and media sway over the Joint meeting Parties (JMP) block, also consisting of Yemen Socialist Party and the Nasserite Unionist Organisation.
