Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Wednesday a consultative meeting of the preachers and religious guiders in Police Academy in Sana'a city.

In the opening session of the meeting, president Saleh congratulated participants on coming holy month of Ramadan, expressing for organizers of the meeting to discuss equilibrium in the Islamic speeches and means of rejecting extremism.

He said that preachers are advisors for people over their religious and life affairs, not police in the streets.

President Saleh pointed out to the wrong thoughts which resulted to killing innocents in Hadramout, Marib and Sana'a governorates as well as attacking girls school near the U.S. embassy in Sana'a.

Who did such crimes and listened to the extremist speeches, have not relations with Islam, he said.

He asked the preachers to shoulder their role in enlightening people about the principles of the Islam as there is political and moral corruption.

President Saleh called on scholars to call people with good words to make people love their religion.

"Yes we want security and stability. We need development and unity of our nation, "he said."We have to work to strengthen security and stability in the country. No development without security and stability."

Saleh said it is forbidden to accuse of infidelity and insulting others.

He called on preachers to grow and spread tolerance brotherhood and love among society as well as cooperation. Moreover, president Saleh said that the government used revenues of the oil in funding roads, educational, health and sports projects.

In 1984, Yemen produced 480,000 barrels per day, but now 370,000 barrels per day, he said.

He also said that recent events in Saada and Hadramout resulted due to ignorance, adding that if there were medial religious speeches, such events would not happen.

We have chosen democracy to allow people to elect their rulers and leadership not to get power on board of tank, he said.

Regarding to the situation in Saada, president Saleh said that the initial report of the assessment committee for damages estimated sum of rebuilding Saada at YR 10 billion.

We gave orders to the cabinet to allocate this sum to rebuild the governorate, he said. The decision of stopping was taken place and peace came, president said.

He concluded his speech by wishing success for the meeting.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
