Almotamar.net - The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) has on Saturday approved to employ education officials in the supervising, basic and ad hoc electoral committees for the implementation of the stage of revising and amending elector tables 2008.
In its meeting on Saturday chaired by the SCER head Adulwahab al-Sharif the Commission studied a rep[ort presented by the head of the sector of parties and civil society organizations that mentioned that the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) have not sent names of their representatives to the committee on revising and amending the elector tables . the Commission considered itself , that out of its responsibilities and constitutional powers , as obliged to carry out this stage in its legal dates in accordance to provisions of the constitution and the law.
The SCER also affirmed that any delay in carrying out this stage would place it accountable legally, according to the law of general elections. And out those responsibilities and after considering the report of the technical and legal affairs on alternatives and options the SCER entrusted heads of the sector of technical affairs and that of the planning and legal affairs and in coordination with ministry of education to choose the mechanism and criteria and conditions necessary for the employees in education so that to assign them for carrying out the stage of revising and amending tables of electors.
The meeting also reviewed the project of the training plan for training activities for the stage of revising and amending the elector tables for 2008. It has also studied the timetable of the stage and it called on the political parties and civil society organizations in addition to international organizations to take part in the observation, beginning from the stage of revising and amending the elector tables for 2009 and ending with voting and vote-counting of the parliamentary elections of 2009.
