Almotamar Net - A leading member in the opposition Yemen Socialist Party (YSP) on Friday assailed the parties of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) of which he said," They do not possess any real project able express but rather practice illegitimate extortion against the authority and resort to uncivilized means that do not proceed from a national concept." Almotamar.net - A leading member in the opposition Yemen Socialist Party (YSP) on Friday assailed the parties of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) of which he said," They do not possess any real project able express but rather practice illegitimate extortion against the authority and resort to uncivilized means that do not proceed from a national concept."

The member of the Central Committee of the YSP Ali Qashr said adoption of the YSP of a hostile attitude against the authority does not serve the political life and does not enable it to perform its role that is supposed to be supportive to the regime.

He added the relation of the opposition with the authority discloses the absence of the concept of dealing with the pother. For the sake of realising self gains the JMP trespasses all the national constants that must be the object of unanimity and accord between the power and the opposition.

Mr Qashr said the JMP is not an alliance as much as a certain political stand. The origin thing in the alliance is the equality and that does not exist between the Islah party (Muslim Brotherhood) in Yemen, which has economy and alternative investments matching the capability of the state and controls civilian institutions, and parties of scarce financial resources and semi absent from civil work.

The former head of the political office of the YSP organisation in Hudeida demonstrated his looking forward that there would be an individual serious dialogue of the General People's Congress (GPC) and the YSP. He affirmed this is the desire of many of the YSP bases rather than just his opinion. Accusing at the same time some Islah leaderships and others that are regarded in the GPC intentionally want to abort any YSP_GPC meeting at a time the YSP was very close to hold an alliance with the GPC. Qashr also said," There is nothing prohibiting the GPC from flirting the YSP, and this is legitimate, taking into consideration that the GPC is the closest to the YSP and the bases of the YSP can accept any alliance with the ruling party on condition there are good elements running the dialogue , well experienced and live to the responsibility." He described his party's alliance with the Islah party within the JMP as the null marriage that cannot continue as it is a pure alliance of convenience. He added that the Islah allied with the YSP just to improve its image before the west because it perceives its inability internationally. He added that the Islah party is at present experiencing a dangerous impasse of the existence of differences with its bases and other differences between its leaderships and symbols.

The YSP leading member said, " If we want as opposition to adopt issues or demands we have to demand for Yemen as a whole not for part of it. The attempt to splitting the national unity is a rejected matter, and it is one of the constants that cannot be squandered." He regretted the continuation of the culture of the north and the south inside the party and warned of such culture would make the YSP lose its supporters.

In his statement to the Saha newspaper issued by the GPC branch of Hudeida Qashr affirmed the existence of a strong current in the YSP supporting the unity and works in confronting the minority and its culture that is refused and said the secretary general of the party Dr Yassin Saeed Nouman is the leader of the unitary current inside the party.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
