Almotamar.net - A source at the General Secretariat of the General People's Congress (GPC) on Saturday welcomed the call of the Supreme commission for elections and Referendum (SCER) on those intending to participate in the process of monitoring the progress of revising and amending voter tables and to present their requests to the civil societies sector at the SCER.
The source considered the call for the political parties, civil organisations and international organisations working in Yemen to take part in the process of watching implementation of the stage of revising and amending voter tables as embodiment of the principle of transparency and integrity that the Yemeni law has guaranteed in practicing all electoral procedures and also embodies partnership among political parties and organisations , civil society organisations , international partners and all those concerned with supporting the democratic process with the SCER.
The source confirmed that participation in this activity is considered a real guarantee, not just for properly fixing the election register but in participation in developing the electoral system in Yemen in general. For this participation is part of the society contribution to stabilize the democratic system of which elections are considered a mist prominent of its phenomena.
The source also urged the political parties and organisations and all international partners concerned with supporting democracy in Yemen to take part in observation of the phase of revising and correcting voters tables in the way guaranteeing the presence of effective electoral observation contributing to success of the process.
