Shabwa press website quoted reliable sources as saying the American ambassador rejected that request and advised them instead to seek arbitration of democracy via the results of elections and what the Yemeni people would express in them.
The American ambassador emphasized to them that the United States of America would not support but democracy in |Yemen and with choices of the people expressed in polling boxes and that the alternative to democracy is chaos and violence that cannot be accepted and would not serve any party.
