By Arif Abu Hatim - Almotamar.net- A number of jurists has criticized what they described as letting down of the woman by parties of the JMP and political parties and organizations in \yeomen, deeming that as backing down from the agreement of principles signed by all political spectra. The agreement of principles emphasizes support for the woman and enabling her in all her political and social rights.

Legal expert Dr Mohammed al-Khatib said the Joint Meeting Parties was not serious in all that it had proposed in the agreement of principles as was trying as much as possible to embarrass the General People’s Congress by put hindrances before the elections and the right democratic practices,
In a statement to almotamar.net D al-Khatib added the document endorsed by all the parties contained articles incompatible with the law. The main instance is the alleged subject of revising the election tables and correcting them. Upon implementation of this clause, the GPC did not find any legal justification that it could work accordingly. He maintained as for the question pertaining to the woman the talk was just slogans and biddings. Up until now we have not seen any credibility by the JMP. All its parties have not taken any step for encouraging the woman with regard to her organizational structure or her democratic practice in the upcoming elections. On his part the GPC has provided the opportunity for the woman and is exerting limitless support for her and the evidence is that she assumes leading positions in the organization and in the government of the GPC.
On his part lawyer Abdullah Rajih said the JMP does not seek for political development of the society but rather for how to achieve subjective interests for its member parties and interests of their persons. The parties of the JMP have no concern about encouraging the political practice by the woman. Talking to almotamat.net, he expressed his hope that we will be mistaken in our belief that the JMP looks at the woman through an ideologist perspective in a way depriving her of participating as candidate while its parties deceive her and rake advantage of her in a wicked manner and push her as a as voter so as to gather more votes. He added that they claim they did not find the suitable woman t nominate her and guarantee her winning.
It is to be recalled that the 11th clause of the agreement of principles signed by all political parties and organizations last June stipulates that there must be support for the Yemeni woman to practice her constitutional rights in any material and moral forms as they are sisters of men and that all the political parties and organizations have to make the woman participation in the political life as a national, human and civilized goal.
