- Head of the Political Office , the ,member o the General Committee of the General People’s Congress GPC Abdullah Ahmed Ghanim has Tuesday renewed accusing the Joint Meeting Parties JMP of backing down from agreements signed with the GPC , confirming that those parties have mistaken political calculations that have no relationship with the logic of power or weakness.
In a latest interview to Al Nass weekly newspaper Ghanim ascertained that the JMP participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Yemen scheduled next April is a decision that concerns the JMP. “No one can force the JMP to boycott or take part, this is its own decision and it is free in taking the decision of participation ort boycotting,” Ghanim said.
Ghanim added that the GPC does not demand but holding the elections and application of the constitution and the law, no more, no les. He added the GPC goes in all its dealings to the constitution, the law and the will of the people.
Ghanim also stressed that the atmospheres are prepared for holding the elections and said the Joint Meeting Parties do not want democracy and elections but rather they just want taking part in the executive power without elections.
Despite his assertion that the JMP is the side that boycotted the dialogue with the GPC, Ghanim nevertheless expressed his optimism saying” I have big conviction that we will soon reach an agreement,” refusing to give any details in this regard.
