Almotamar.net - Secretary General of the Arab Women General (AWGU) Union, the Chairwoman of Yemen Women Union (YWU) Ramzia al-Eryany called Tuesday, at the opening of the 9th Conference of the Syrian Women General Union, for the creation of convenient climate for the woman to play her real role in the society within concepts of freedom and justice.

Al-Eryany emphasised on considering of the woman as an essential national and pan-Arab issue, “we have to put it at the forefront of the priorities in a manner she and the man constitute the basic base for every creative national and pan-Arab action in the building of the homeland and the nation. Thus the issue of the woman would have come out of the frame of conflict between her and the man to the space of the serious work for building the homeland in a way settling on deep-rooted civilization heritage of the Arab Nation and heading for contemporary civilization the objective of which is happiness of the human.”

In her address to the conference she wished that meetings of the conference would succeed so that it would be a luminous landmark in the history of the Syrian woman movement and help achieve the goals it works for.

The Regional Assistant Secretary General of the Arab Bath Socialist Party in Syria Mohammed Saeed Bakhitan on Tuesday opened the meetings of the Syrian Women General Union’s 9th conference in Damascus, Syria,

The conference would over three days discuss reports presented to it in areas of health, environment and population, welfare of childhood, planning and statistic and organisation and the law. External relations, social development, adults education, in addition to areas of culture, studies, the media and the central professional qualification.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
