Almotamar.net - Vice chairman of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption commission SNACC in Yemen Dr Balqis Abu Isbaa has on Monday emphasised the Commission interest in continuation of partnership with civil society organizations in Yemen in the field of fighting corruption and prevention of its dangers.
In a workshop organised in Sana’a on Monday by the Bureau of Partners for Democratic Change, the SNACC official stressed the impotence of building alliances for anticorruption.
Dr Abu Isbaa has made it clear that there is an entity especial for the civil society in the national strategy on fighting corruption, drawing the attention to existence of a national team working in that entity in prelude to launching the strategy that is considered the mechanism for combating corruption through programmes the SNACC is keen to have different activities taking part in drawing up and carry out. She has also displayed a great optimism in role of the civil society in fighting corruption, citing projects implemented by the civil society in cooperation with the commission.
The vice chairman of the SNACC emphasised seriousness of the commission in combating corruption and that there are many issues under its study after referring some of them to the prosecution . She also pointed out that the Commission is not allowed to publish details of the issues before decisive judgments have been issued on them.
For his part, member of the Commission, the head of the civil society sector at the commission Izzidin al-Asbahi said the civil society is one of the most significant pillars of integrity besides the media, the private sector and international organisations.
