Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh met in Sana'a on Saturday with Secretary General of Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeledin Ihsanoglu, who currently visits the country.
The meeting discussed the cooperation aspects between Yemen and OIC as well as a number of issues and developments that concern the Islamic nation and means of strengthening the Islamic solidarity process.
The two sides dealt with the aid to be presented by the organization to the displaced people in Saada province who fled their homes due to the rebellion war ignited by al-Houthi rebels in the province.
Ihsanoglu affirmed the organization's support to Yemen to conserve its unity, security, and sovereignty on its territories, expressing his trust in the Yemeni leadership's wisdom to face the current challenges.
The organization rejects violence and the sectarian and communal exploitation and religion politicization for non-humanitarian purposes, Ihsanoglu said pointing that OIC would present aid worth $3 million to the displaced.
He added that the organization intends to set up a lodging camp for 5,000 people.
For his part, President Saleh valued the organization's supportive position to Yemen and its efforts in supporting the war-affected people in Saada province.
Saleh noted the role of the OIC's Secretary General in enhancing the Islamic solidarity and serving the organization's goals.
