Almotamar.net - Reliable local sources said Tuesday that many of the Houthi elements have surrendered to official and local authorities during the past hours. The sources added that the brother of the member of the parliament and one of the sheikhs of Harf Sufyan and one of the Houthi rebels field leaders was among the elements that surrendered during the past two days.
The sources said that this step taken by hose Houthi elements by surrendering themselves came in the wake of leaflets and messages the army addressed to those elements and included calling them to surrender themselves to police stations and army posts near the areas where they are present or to the local authorities, the sheikhs and the social personalities that they trust in them and that is in return for securing security and full protection to whoever surrenders voluntarily.
The sources said the choking siege imposed by the army and security units on outlets and roads of supplies has pushed a number of those elements to surrender.
In earlier time the armed forces and security have named certain centres for receiving the Houthi rebels who would surrender including the checkpoints leading to the centres. The army commands have issued orders to the military units on good reception of those surrendering themselves and to be treated humanely. .
