By:almotamar.net - AL-MAHWEET- Thousands of people participated Monday in a rally for the General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh in al-Mahweet governorate.
In his speech, Ali Abdullah Saleh talked about the development achievements in the country. "I am very happy with what I have heard of and seen and what has been achieved. But owners of black eyeglasses can't see, with blindness and malice accompanying them. They never show gratitude for anything that is nice. They mislead the Yemeni people with their resonant speeches to stir their feelings," Saleh said.
Saleh described those who put on black eyeglasses by saying, "They bear a mattock for destruction, not construction. They want to destroy the national unification. They want to crack our national unification, but they are unable to do so in front of your will. They are unable to forge the people's awareness by their malice and hatred towards this nation and all the achievements, because they are unable to do anything as they didn't do anything in the past and will not do anything in future… We can't remember facts, and can't say there are no paved roads, electricity, or water. It is lying because they are present but they don't see."
Saleh, moreover, announced that during the coming years, in the coastal and desert areas, lands will be used for residence and agriculture in order to "absorb youths' skills, eradicate poverty, and fight corruption at the same time." He also stressed on fighting poverty and finding job opportunities for youths.
"The 20th of September will be a great historic event, like the 26th of September when the Revolution broke out. Our people will say yes for unification, freedom, and democracy; yes for peace, stability, development; but not for terrorism, secession or latent malice. Yes, our people will say on 20 September not for the owners of black eyeglasses, but yes for the GPC, the horse that has directed the country over 28 years, and will direct it in future, with Allah's willing," Saleh added.
Concluding his speech, Saleh thanked the crowd for their interaction." Thank you for this great democratic marriage, which we made of our own accord. Such festivals are held for the candidates of the GPC, JMP and the National Council for Opposition alike," he said.
