Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh met in Sana’a on Tuesday Britain's Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Ivan Lewis.
The meeting dealt with the outcomes of the 27 January London Meeting on Yemen in which Yemen and its allies addressed Yemen's developmental and security issues and agreed to tackle them together in the best interest of the country, the region and the world.
The two sides also discussed arrangements for a donor meeting on Yemen that was approved in the London summit to be held on 22-23 February in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, as well as plans and mechanism of the newly-announced Friends of Yemen Group.
President Saleh appreciated Britain's role in supporting Yemen through calling for, arranging and hosting the London meeting held days ago, which came up with positive outcomes to boost the partnership between Yemen and its allies.
He also touched upon the British support for Yemen's counterterrorism efforts and boosting its national economy.
The meeting also dealt with the bilateral relationship and means to strengthen mutual cooperation between the two countries.
In 2007 the opposition Yemen Congregation for Reform (Islah) Islamic oriented Party maintained its having political and media sway over the Joint meeting Parties (JMP) block, also consisting of Yemen Socialist Party and the Nasserite Unionist Organisation.
