Almotamar.net - The Yemeni government has demanded from international and regional donor organisations and countries a sum of $44 billion and 535 million for covering needs of development sectors until the year 2015. That came in a document Almotamar.net obtained and it would be presented by the Yemeni government in Riyadh on Saturday.

A document titled ‘ Preparation for the 4th economic and social development plan for poverty alleviation in 2011-2015 ‘ revealed that the financial revenues demanded for agreement on goals of the millennium during the period 2010-2015 , amounting to $44 billion and 535 million, is distributed on public education amounting to $16 billion 120 million , health $13 billion and 893 million , technical and vocational education $ 3 billion and 813 million , water and sewage $3 billion and `08 millions, roads $2 billion and 37 million , electricity $1 billion and 828 million , higher education $1 billion and 813 million , agriculture $1 billion and 716 million and fisheries $208 million.

The report pointed out assessment of sectors needs 2005 which was accomplished by the ministry of planning and international cooperation in cooperation with the UNDP, the second national report on goals of the millennium development issued lately.

The report revealed that share of the Yemeni individual from aid and easy loans remained a low figure not exceeding $13 as average while the average share of the individual in the less developed comities reaches to about $44 and that is despite low developmental indicators of Yemen, relating to achieving goals of the millennium that the donor countries adopt as a basis for defining the volume of their aid.

The report has affirmed that the national economy is facing a number of major challenges, mainly population growth where the need for gaining services of education, health care and other public services and providing job opportunities , besides the shortage of water resources.

Among economic challenges is the reduction in depending on oil though economic diversification.
