Below is Saleh's speech delivered before thousands of people in Raimah governorate.
Brothers and sisters of Raimah governorate,
Peace be upon you,
I feel satisfied with these huge changes made in this governorate. Thanks to the faithful people and the governorate's leadership represented by districts and constituencies… they are great changes in the field of infrastructure such as roads, electricity, public utilities, etc. A number of technical and vocational institutes will be established soon, in addition to some colleges as a base to establish Raimah University, with citizens' cooperation to provide the land. Such great accomplishments have been realized in Raimah since its establishment, thanks to your cooperation in stabilizing security and stability in this governorate.
The September and October Revolutions have brought about tremendous changes in our lives; and many things have been achieved since the unification. These achievements are before all to see. I shall not talk much about them. Raimah's poet has talked about them, expressing what the leadership and people of Raimah want.
What matters for us is future. In our future plan, the financial liability law will be put into effect to include everyone, from the president to the last one in the hierarchical order of the state's authorities. This law will include the high-ranking figures that strive after corruption in the land and lay their sins on others. With Allah's willing, this law will be implemented and literally applied without compliment and favoritism.
We shall, to the best of our abilities, maintain peace and stability, and help complete this political battle under the protection of security and stability.
Our people will say their decisive word on 20 September, and say yes for security, stability, protecting the Yemeni unification, but not for the dark forces, not for the forces of desertion and secession. How did such forces become combined?
For two things: all of them were recidivists, companions of desertion and secession, they were main partners in disassociating the state's power. They conspired against the unification, received its cost. Secondly, they thought they could replace the Yemeni Socialist Party which was our partner in unification, but they failed to do so, as they were reactionary and retarded forces, with roots similar to those of the monarchical system, both of which being totalitarian regimes. How did the Yemeni Socialist Party and what is called Muslim Brotherhood movement combined together to form the Joint Meeting Parties? So, what they want is to turn against the legitimacy, and want to make Yemen like Somalia and Iraq. But this is unattainable for them as our people are the active forces that, with support from the military , maintain security, stability, unification, democracy, and development.
