Almotamar.net, Saba - The Cabinet approved on Tuesday an initiative to support financing 11 projects aiming at developing the tourist product in Yemen in cooperation with the World Tourism Organization.
This came after the Cabinet approved the report of the Supreme Council of Tourism on the results of the last August meeting of the council, which included the developmental projects to develop the tourist product.
In its meeting on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar, the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to find sources of funding through donors to help financing the implementation of those projects as they represent great importance for the tourism development.
Also, the Cabinet agreed on organizing for convening the Second Arab Tourism Forum by the Ministry of Tourism, which will be held in Sana'a during October 23-25.
Furthermore, the Cabinet discussed the recommendations of the Supreme Council of Tourism on "Kenos Bib" project, which includes a series of tourism investment projects on an area of 394,773 square meters at an estimated cost of YSD 100 million.
In this regard, and in light of the approval of Ibb province on establishing the project on an area of 30 percent of Almahmol Mountain in the city of Ibb, the Cabinet decided to authorize Ibb Governor, the General Authority for Lands and Survey and Constructional Planning and the General Investment Authority to hand over the project site to the investing company to start the implementation process.
The Cabinet stressed at the same time to apply all conditions of the General Investment Authority with respect to the period of time, in which the investor should complete the implementation of the project, unless the site would be withdrawn.
The cabinet also considered a report presented by the minister of parliament and shura council affairs regarding the draft laws and their amendments presented by the government to the parliament that is decided to be discussed by the parliament.
On the other hand, the cabinet approved a draft strategic plan on developing of the Coast Guard Authority for the next ten years presented by the ministry of interior.
